The Canadian Grand Prix in 2024 was a competitive race between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. The track was struck by rain mid race making it even more challenging. In 2025, Verstappen is driving a much slower car. The race is going to be a one way fight between the two McLarens. As witnessed in the previous races in 2025, McLarens have been able to dominate any race if they start from the front row. After the team brought in upgrades in Barcelona, even the midfield has become more competitive. Sauber were in the spotlight during the Spanish GP.
The Canadian GP is hosted at the Circuit Gilles- Villeneuve Notre Dame Island in Montreal, Quebec. The Canada GP Circuit is named after former F1 driver Gilled Villeneuve. Canadian Grand Prix made its debut at the current track in 1978. Gilles Villeneuve is the only Canadian driver to win the Canadian GP.
Over the years, the track has undergone many modifications. It’s final turn is famously known as the “Wall of Champions”. The turn got its name due to the multiple crashes it has sustained from Formula 1 and other motorsports champions during a Canadian GP weekend. Max Verstappen has been winning the race for three years in a row since 2022. However, the track record for most wins is held by Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher with seven wins each.

nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
