“They did a side by side with Conor and Dana. I swear to goodness, Conor looked 10 years older than Dana White, and you could see it in the eyes. You could see the booze in the eyelids and the coc***e in the eyeballs, saying I wanna fight. Then you got a promoter, who can make that happen and that promoter is saying ‘we are not even close, im not even taking his calls right now’.”

That’s a massive fall from grace for someone who was once the company’s biggest draw. When your boss stops returning your calls in a business built on relationships, you know things have gone sideways. White built his empire partly on McGregor’s star power, but even he has limits on how much drama he will tolerate.

Chael Sonnen Calls Out Desperate Fighters Chasing Conor McGregor

“You find guys, jumping up and down in the background, saying ‘pick me, choose me.’ How far has your career fallen when you sit at home over social media begging for an opportunity from a guy who looks older to the guy next to him that’s got him by a decade.”

The irony is thick here. Fighters who should be building their own legacies are instead trying to ride the coattails of someone who might not even be taking fights seriously anymore.This creates a weird cycle where McGregor stays relevant not because of what he’s doing, but because of what others want from him. Every callout keeps his name in headlines. Every desperate plea for attention feeds the machine that McGregor built. The legend’s shadow has become bigger than the legend himself, and everyone’s still dancing in that shadow hoping for scraps.
