Four remain at the Italian capital!
The men’s singles semifinals at the 2025 Internazionali BNL d’Italia are set to be played on Friday, 16 May. Despite all four quarterfinal encounters being decided in straight sets, the final four battles promise to be some of the most potent match-ups this season. All four remaining players are seeded within the Top-12, and seek their maiden championship at the Foro Italico. Who will reign supreme?

Days after confirming his return to No. 2 in the world, Carlos Alcaraz will return to Centre Court in Rome. The Spaniard is chasing an elusive first trophy here, but it won’t be an easy path to glory. He will face home favourite Lorenzo Musetti in the first semifinal on Friday. Musetti defeated the No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev on Wednesday.
Producing some of the best tennis in his career, Musetti has now reached the semifinal or better at all three clay court Masters events this year. The 23-year-old is yet to drop a set on home soil so far. On the other hand, Alcaraz is making a strong return after pulling out of the Madrid Masters two weeks ago. The reigning Roland Garros king leads the head to head against Musetti by 4-1.

Jannik Sinner (1) vs Tommy Paul (11):
Returning from a three month suspension, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner is on collision course with the in-form Tommy Paul on Friday. Like his Italian compatriot Musetti, Sinner is yet to drop a set en route to the final four. The three-time Grand Slam champion dropped just one game in his quarterfinal thrashing of Casper Ruud.
Tommy Paul was considered a minnow ahead of multiple encounters in Rome this week. His toughest test was against Tomas Machac in the Round of 32 – he eventually prevailed 6-3 6-7(5) 6-4. Since then, the man who turns 28 on Saturday managed to beat Alex de Minaur and Hubert Hurkacz with relative ease. Sinner has the upper hand in this rivalry 3-1 so far.
