Lewis Hamilton Predicts a “Painful” Year with Ferrari in 2025!

Lewis Hamilton finished seventh at Jeddah. Here's what he said in his interview with Sky Sports.

Lewis Hamilton found himself in a lot of spotlights after he joined Scuderia Ferrari in 2025. He became a part of the Prancing Horses in order to find a stronger bid for his legendary eighth championship. After a disappointing start in Australia, Hamilton went on to win the Sprint race at China. His victory urged the fans to believe that Ferrari had finally made their comeback in the championship battle.

However, his disqualification in Chinese Grand Prix paved way for the most disastrous start to his season. Hamilton has only found himself in the top-5 once after completing five races with Ferrari. To add fuel to fire, he is regularly beaten by Leclerc in the race and qualification sessions.

The last race weekend was yet another forgettable stint by the seven-time champion. Lewis could only secure seventh place in the championship. He was a crucial part of Ferrari’s strategy to help Leclerc secure his and the team’s first podium.

During his interview with Sky Sports, Hamilton was dejected while talking about his race at Jeddah. The gap between him and his teammate was more than 30 s last Sunday. According to him, the main problems during the race were understeer, degradation and lack of pace. He praised the balance of the car but he was not satisfied with the overall performance on Sunday.

Hamilton claims that there is little to no difference between his and Leclerc’s data throughout the race. The driving style of both Ferrari drivers is almost similar. But Hamilton attributes Leclerc’s better performance to the experience he has with Ferrari cars.

In his interview Hamilton said-

“Nothing positive to take, except for Charles finishing on the podium, which is great for the team. It was horrible, not enjoyable at all. I was just sliding around. I didn’t have grip. First stint, massive understeer, car not turning and then massive deg. The second stint, slightly better balance but still just no pace. Pretty bad.”

Lewis Hamilton has earned himself prompt support from his team principal. Fred Vasseur has promised to get behind the issues he is facing and solve them with highest priority. Vasseur says that he is going to support his driver 2000% if necessary. Only time will tell if the remaining 2025 season will play out in Ferrari’s favor or not.
