Two-time champion at the Mutua Madrid Open and runner-up from last year, Aryna Sabalenka takes on Russia’s Anna Blinkova in her Round of 64 clash on Friday. Sabalenka is entering the Spanish capital on the back of a great week that ended in heartbreak at Stuttgart. Provided she makes it past Blinkova, the World No. 1 will face either Elise Mertens or Camila Osorio in Round-3.

Ahead of the Madrid Open, Aryna Sabalenka has admitted that she has “big chances of performing well on clay” if she can retain her level. A three-time Grand Slam champion, Sabalenka has had two championship runs and three runner-up finishes in 2025. Anna Blinkova is currently ranked No. 76 in the world.
