CM Punk has been part of one feud after the other since he returned to WWE. He has always been relentlessly chasing his dream of Main Eventing WrestleMania, but every time he is in touching distance, some hurdle pops up. He had to leave WrestleMania XL owing to an injury. He was sure to main event this year but his rivalry with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins cost him big.

CM Punk announced himself for the 2025 Royal Rumble and was on course when he eliminated his rivals. His excitement of eliminating both cost him as Logan Paul eliminated him next. He needed to win the Elimination Chamber to feature in the WrestleMania main event. Seth Rollins had other plans as he delivered a stomp to him after elimination and cost him the match again.

CM Punk to close the WrestleMania, Says Paul Heyman

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns have been at each other’s throats since the 2025 Royal Rumble. They brawled outside the ring at Royal Rumble and closed the Raw with a brawl at Madison Square Garden. Each brawl intensified their rivalry further, forcing WWE officials to announce a triple-threat match between them at WrestleMania. They were asked to sign the contract on the March 28 episode of SmackDown.

Roman Reigns was the first to sign the contract. Seth Rollins entered and had a war of words with The OTC before signing the contract. He claimed to be the one to clean Roman’s mess of letting CM Punk slide at Madison Square Garden. CM Punk entered and was taking his sweet time to read the contract especially to search for the term that would get him closer to the main event.

Roman Reigns mocked CM Punk and asked the wise man Paul Heyman to help him. Paul Heyman told CM Punk that what he was searching for was in there, and he would get to leave his dream of all dreams. He stated, “CM Punk, you are a WrestleMania Main Eventer.” CM Punk was happy and emotional and was seen in tears.

CM Punk will now face Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a triple-threat at WrestleMania Main Event.
