A New Quarterback Has Emerged as an Option for the Pittsburgh Steelers

Eric Divakaran

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still on the hunt for a quarterback and have been looking for one since a couple of seasons ago. The only problem is that there’s not a definitive option for them at the market. They should have been much more aggressive in the offseason but here we are. One of their targets from the list of QBs available, was Justin Fields. Now, Fields is off-limits as he signed a two-year deal with the New York Jets.

Another quarterback who was looking for a new home was Sam Darnold, who just signed a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, and the Steelers were left gawking. Their final options remaining is QB Russell Wilson but even he is targeted by the New York Giants and potentially could be hard to acquire. However, there is some hope as a new candidate has emerged and he could be the best option that the Steelers have, given all the options that are left in the free agency. Let us look at who that is.

Aaron Rodgers Could Be Crowned As the Steelers’ Quarterback

After only two seasons with the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers was let go by the New York Jets. Rodgers is 41 years of age and is now looking for a new home. The Pittsburgh Steelers need a new quality quarterback and the two parties (Steelers and Rodgers) may not get a better deal than this.

According to Adam Schefter, Aaron Rodgers has emerged as an QB option for the Steelers. Rodgers and the Steelers are expected to talk and explore a possible union. Steelers’ head coach, Mike Tomlin, and the four-time MVP playing together is certainly in the cards and this would be a good fit for Rodgers. The Steelers need a quarterback who has the experience and the skills to help them win ball games and there is no one better than Rodgers himself.

Rodgers, despite having little success with the Jets, still threw for 3897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, was intercepted 11 times, and had a pass completion rate of 63.0%. Even though he’s not in his prime anymore, he can still still provide some stability in the Steelers’ offense and possibly take them further into the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers’ Next Team Predictions

According to BetMGM, here are the teams where Aaron Rodgers could play next;

  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • San Francisco 49ers

The Pittsburgh Steelers or the Las Vegas Raiders could most likely sign Rodgers. Rodgers could also sign with the Colts because of their lack of success last season, and since San Francisco is Rodgers’ home, there is a possibility that he may sign with the team.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
