Sean Strickland Goes Off On Khamzat Chimaev; Wants To Send Him Back To ‘Crypto Scams’

Former champion Sean Strickland takes aim at undefeated Khamzat Chimaev, vowing to send him back to a shady past!

The trash-talking tornado that is Sean Strickland has set his sights on a new target: the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev. Fight fans know Strickland never holds back, whether he is in the cage or behind a microphone. But this time, he has taken aim at one of the UFC‘s most feared fighters, the boogeyman of the middleweight division, and he’s not pulling any punches with his words.

Before diving into Strickland’s latest verbal assault, fans need to remember that Khamzat Chimaev has been tearing through the UFC roster like a hot knife through butter. The undefeated Chechen fighter recently added Robert Whittaker to his list of victims, submitting the former champion in what many consider 2024’s submission of the year. He pushed his bottom teeth in and in that process, broke his jaw.

It’s worth noting that Whittaker isn’t just any opponent. He is the former champion who went toe-to-toe with Israel Adesanya twice and dominated most of the middleweight division. But Strickland wasn’t impressed, dismissing Whittaker’s performance as just an off night.

Sean Strickland Had Some Harsh Words For Khamzat Chimaev

Sean Strickland is gearing up for his title rematch with Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312. However, he seems more fired up about the prospect of facing Chimaev than reclaiming his belt. In his typical unfiltered style, he’s already predicting that after their potential fight, Chimaev will return to “peddling crypto scams” – a dig at Chimaev’s previous encounter in the cryptocurrency space.

“Big C*mshot (Chimaev). He’s a Chechnyan f**king whore. Anybody who fights that guy is going to get a f**king paycheck, dude…He went hard and he fought a f**king guy who came out really f**king flat and doesn’t give a f**k. Rob is known to either be a f**king superstar or a f**king can, and he was a f**king can. He was just met with too much pressure. After I’m done with f**king Chimaev he’s f**king to go back to peddling f**king crypto scams,” said Strickland via MMA Junkie.

This isn’t just random trash talk though. UFC CEO Dana White has already hinted that Chimaev could be next in line for whoever emerges victorious from the Du Plessis-Strickland rematch. Strickland has previously trained with Chimaev, and he knows his style and his strengths and weaknesses, but so does Chimaev.

Strickland’s colorful character and brutal honesty have made him an unexpected fan favorite. He has transformed into one of the sport’s most entertaining figures, both in and out of the octagon. While he acknowledges Chimaev’s fighting ability, his main criticism seems to focus on Chimaev’s character rather than his skills. If this fight does materialize, it would pit two of the division’s most contrasting personalities against each other!
