Cody Rhodes saved yet another opponent from Kevin Owens' Package Piledriver and ended the SmackDown with a brawl.

WWE has been busy with the preparation of Saturday Night Main Event and 2025 Royal Rumble. Cody Rhodes started today’s Friday Night SmackDown and stated he is ready to put everything on the line to beat Kevin Owens.

Matthew McConaughey was in the house enjoying SmackDown from the ringside. Damian Priest and Miz were moved to the blue brand of WWE. Charlotte Flair also announced her entry to Royal Rumble with a video message.

MCMG vs Pretty Deadly

Pretty Deadly showed a brutal version of themselves that was never seen before. They dominated the majority of the match and it seemed Motor City Machine Guns had no clue what hit them. The former tag team champions increased the intensity of their attack and showed why they are the best in the business. The two-and-fro match ended when MCMG delivered Skull and Bones to Lewis Howley and won the match.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs Michin and B-Fab

B-Fab lost her match to Piper Niven last week and Piper Niven and Chelsea Green started a two-on-one assault on her. Michin drove them off with a Kendo Stick to save B-Fab. These two teams met tonight and it seemed the numbers advantage of Piper and Chelsea went out the window. B-Fab covered Chelsea for a Pin but Piper broke the pin with a body drop. Michin delivered an Eat Defeat to Chelsea Green and won the match.

Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, and Candice LeRae vs Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Naomi

Tiffany was acknowledging the crowd when Rhea Ripley entered the ring. Nia Jax entered the ring and officially announced her entry to the Royal Rumble. Naomi and Bianca Belair followed and announced their entry to Rumble followed by Liv Morgan. A verbal spat followed by a physical brawl forced Nick Aldis to enter the ring and announce a Six-Women Tag team match.

The match shifted from one team to another in a matter of seconds. Team Ripley dominated the match initially. The numbers game however shifted the advantage to Team Liv with Raquel Rodriguez by the ringside. The number’s advantage played a pivotal role the entire match as Raquel Rodriguez interrupted the match in decisive moments. Rhea got distracted while Bianca floored Candice LeRae, Liv Morgan clutched her shoulders from behind to win the match.

Apollo Crews vs Johnny Gargano

Apollo Crews was mocking Pretty Deadly last week for helping DIY when Johnny Gargano attacked him. Apollo Crews showed some gravity-defying moves and dominated Gargano initially. Tommaso Ciampa’s presence at the ringside shifted momentum towards Gargano. He attacked Apollo outside the ring when Gargano distracted her. MCMG entered the ring and distracted DIY. Apollo rolled up cover Gargano from behind and won the match.

LA Knight vs Tama Tonga

Tama Tonga and LA Knight brutalized each other the entire match and none of them was ready to lose their grip on the match. The match swerved from one opponent to the other the entire match and the crowd loved it. The match went to near stalemate numerous times but both of them were able to kick out. LA Knight delivered a BFT to Tama Tonga to win the match.

Jacob Fatu pulled LA Knight out and started brutalizing him when Braun Strowman entered the ring and drove Jacob Fatu away.

Damian Priest vs Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes showed his in-ring awareness and tried to get an upper hand on Damian Priest. Carmelo Hayes dominated the match initially. Damian Priest’s brutality was however too much to take for Melo. He increased the intensity of his attack on Melo but Melo showed why he was the #1 draft pick. It took everything in Damian’s power to win the match. The Punisher delivered a South of Heaven Chokeslam to Melo and pinned him.

Jimmy Uso vs Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens entered the arena and ran his mouth about Michael Cole, Rock, and many others stating they all want to be Cody’s friend. He moved his attention to Matthew McConaughey when Jimmy entered the ring. K.O. asked him why is he here and Jimmy replied that you run your mouth too much and delivered a Superkick to him. He set up for Uso Splash but K.O. left the ring. Big Jim announced that they are scheduled to fight later tonight.

Melo attacked Jimmy while he was entering the ring and the official stopped the brawl. Kevin played mind games from the moment he entered the ring. He entered the ring wearing Naomi’s Glow T-shirt. Owens and Big Jim fought hard and kept the crowd engaged. Both superstars delivered numerous superkicks to each other. The match went to near fall numerous times as both the superstars were dried up of their strength.

Kevin Owens delivered a Pop-up Powerbomb to Jimmy Uso and pinned him to win the match. Kevin Owens took Jimmy over the announcer’s desk to deliver a Package Piledriver but Cody entered and saved Jimmy. Cody and Owens brawled with each other when SmackDown called curtains.
