Boxing Rumors: Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis Hint At Potential Rematch!

Zaid Quraishi

Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis tease a highly anticipated rematch, fueling speculation of a blockbuster showdown in the near future!

Boxing fans know that sometimes the best gifts come wrapped in tweets. On Gervonta Davis’s birthday, a simple fan request became one of boxing’s most exciting possibilities for 2025. The history between him and Ryan Garcia runs deep, with their first clash in 2023 ending in Davis stopping Garcia at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The road back to this potential rematch hasn’t been straight or smooth for either fighter. Garcia’s career hit a significant speed bump when he tested positive for Ostarine, landing him a one-year suspension. But like any good boxing story, there’s always another chapter waiting to be written.

What Sparked Gervonta Davis’ Interest In Ryan Garcia Rematch?

The spark for this potential rematch came from an unexpected corner of the internet. A fan decided to shoot their shot on Davis’s birthday, asking ‘Tank’ to give Ryan Garcia another chance. Maybe it was the birthday spirit, or perhaps Gervonta Davis felt generous, but he responded positively.

This led to a back-and-forth that had boxing fans reaching for their popcorn. Davis, showing his playful side, even demanded a birthday gift from Garcia in exchange for the fight, saying, “Get me a gift for my b’day or you not getting sh*t..” This tweet, however, has been deleted.

Ryan Garcia himself jumped back into the arena with his own tweet. He wrote that he wanted to settle this after the loss. This is what he posted:

“Time to settle this the right way!!!”

Since their first meeting, the landscape has shifted dramatically. Before his suspension, Garcia put on a stunning performance against Devin Haney, raising eyebrows and questions in equal measure. The timing could actually work out perfectly. Garcia’s suspension ends in 2025, and what better way to return to professional boxing than with a shot at redemption against the man who handed him his first loss?

Of course, in boxing, nothing’s certain until both fighters are actually in the ring. But with both fighters showing interest publicly and fans already buzzing about the possibility, this rematch might just be more than just birthday wishes and Twitter dreams!
