Trump Unveils 2027 NFL Draft in DC

President Donald Trump revealed that the 2027 NFL Draft will take place at the National Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. “I’m pleased to reveal that the 2027 NFL Draft will be held right here, in our nation’s capital,” Trump said, calling it a “beautiful,” and unique event. It is the first time that DC will host the Draft since the NFL began rotating host cities in 2015, moving away from New York.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris, and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, all joined Trump in the White House for the announcement. Commissioner Goodell highlighted the NFL Draft’s growing appeal, noting a record of over 750K attendees at the 2024 NFL draft, and around 600K attendees at the 2025 Draft, which was held at Green Bay last month. He also added “The NFL draft has become a marquee even, uniting fans from across the country.”

According to various sources Commanders’ owner Harris and Commissioner Goodell expect up to one million NFL fans to show up to attend the 2027 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, if you’re wondering about the 2026 NFL draft, it will be hosted in Pittsburgh next year. Trump made history on February, becoming the first president to sit and attend a Super Bowl, which only helped bring more spotlight towards the league.

The 2027 NFL Draft will showcase the next generation of stars that will come into the NFL, and with the event being held in DC, it cannot get any bigger than that.
