NFL Draft 2025: Abdul Carter’s Physical Attributes – Learn About Abdul Carter’s Height, Weight, Age, and More

Devavrat Kulkarni

Abdul Carter's explosive physical nature is key to his success!

Defensive end Abdul Carter is widely considered the number one prospect in the upcoming draft. The Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns both are in need of a quarterback, but it would not come as a surprise if either of them end up selecting Carter who is that good of a player.

Starting his collegiate career as an off-ball linebacker, Carter saw quite a bit of success with over 100 tackles and 11 sacks during his freshman and sophomore seasons at Penn State. It was however last year when he transitioned to the edge that he took the league by storm. In just 16 games, Carter finished with 68 tackles, 12 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. His ability to get after the quarterback was evident not only from his sacks standpoint but also from his 61% pressure rate which was the third-best in the FBS.

The edge rusher has a strong presence on the field with quickness and burst off the line as his main strengths. His agility and athleticism are tremendously helpful in him getting through the gaps and working his way around defenders as he chases the backfield.

Abdul Carter’s Age

Abdul Carter was born on October 3, 2003. Currently, Carter who is 21 years old, has been a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania all his life. Carter attended La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, following which he had offers from top colleges such as Ole Miss and South Carolina. Carter, however, decided to stay closer to home and chose to play his collegiate football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Abdul Carter’s Physical Attributes

Players at the defensive end position can see quite a bit of range when it comes to their height and weight. Having said that, the average height of a defensive end in the modern-day game is approximately 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m), while the average weight is around 274 pounds (124 kg). Abdul Carter Height

Penn State alum Abdul Carter stands at 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m). Although Carter is about an inch shorter than the average height at his position, his height is still decent enough to impact the game. As a defensive end, Carter makes use of his length to deflect the ball in pass plays and wrap around the ball carrier while performing defensive duties.

Abdul Carter Weight

Carter currently weighs around 250 lb (113 kg), which is slightly less than ideal for his position. To make more of an impact in the NFL, experts believe that it may serve him well if he were to add a bit more muscle and strength. However, it is paramount to remember that he should not lose his explosiveness while doing so.

Abdul Carter 40-Time

Unfortunately, there is no official 40-yard dash time for Abdul Carter as he could not participate in drills at the Combine due to a shoulder injury he suffered during the Fiesta Bowl game. Carter also did not participate in events during his Penn State Pro Day. Nevertheless, as an edge rusher, it is his explosive burst off the line that matters the most, and that has been evidenced throughout his three years of collegiate career.

Abdul Carter Vertical Jump

Similar to the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and his Pro Day, Carter’s shoulder injury kept him from participating in the on-field drills, thus, there is no official information on his vertical jump stats.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
