Max Verstappen won the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix for Red Bull Racing. Verstappen won the championship that year, against heavy competition from Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren. Formula 1 is gearing up to an explosive start in the Bahrain Grand Prix.
For the first time since 2012, F1 has witnessed three different race winners in the opening race weekends. Max Verstappen immediately closed the gap to his championship rival, Lando Norris, with an easy victory at the Suzuka circuit last week. Let’s go through the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix Predictions and Odds ahead of the start of the race weekend.
The results from Suzuka gave an important hint about the upcoming weekends for the 2025 F1 schedule. The current data predicts that Yuki Tsunoda might end up closing the gap between himself and his teammate. Helmut Marko implied that Tsunoda was not far away from Verstappen’s lap times during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend.
The way Japanese Grand Prix played out for Williams might become disturbing for them. They started the season on a very good note. But, recently both of their drivers are facing major issues. Carlos Sainz can’t bring out the pace in his car. Alex Albon was also unhappy with his car.

Ferrari will also face a lot of troubles this weekend. The miscommunication and distrust amongst the drivers for the team has increased even more in the Japanese Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc’s defiant radio messages in Suzuka were proof of his dissatisfaction. Mercedes looks very stable for the upcoming weekend. They may not be the fastest on the grid, but they have the pairing which makes them the most consistent on the grid.
George Russell is doing a great job at leading the team. Similarly, Kimi Antonelli is improving his race craft every weekend. Haas needs to sort out some performance issues. They might end up claiming double points again the next race. Alpine’s have slowly faded out the midfield. None of their drivers look confident enough for the upcoming race. The same situation is haunting Sauber and their drivers.
Our predicted top-10 consists of both drivers from McLaren and Mercedes. The remaining spots will be shared among the Ferraris, Red Bull and the other midfield teams. Among the midfielders, Racing Bulls have the best chance of finishing at least one car in points and Haas have a slight chance for double points finish. We highly doubt that Williams will secure points this weekend. Sauber and Alpine are going to fight as backmarkers yet again. The only clutch performance can come from Aston Martin. But the Adrian Newey led team has found themselves a solid direction for the 2025 season.

How will the teams fare in Bahrain as we head back to the location of pre-season testing? 👊#F1 #BahrainGP pic.twitter.com/csHPUnTWsY
Based on the previous results from the 2025 Formula 1 season. We predict that Oscar Piastri will be the race winner at Bahrain. Barring his mistake at Australia, Piastri has not conceded his results at all. He has displayed much better than Lando Norris most of the times. Oscar Piastri’s only hindrance is his qualifying positions. Other wise, the Australian has made sure to keep his performance up to the mark. The Japanese Grand Prix was where Piastri drew the line. He wanted to attack Max Verstappen claiming he had a better chance to win compared to Norris. Piastri was denied track position, a move criticised widely by F1 experts. McLaren won’t be able to leash their new talent if he decided to go rogue against his teammate. Oscar Piastri has the best odds for winning the Formula 1 race in Bahrain.
Max Verstappen may have won Suzuka, but his Red Bull displayed no such competitive pace. His victory in Japan is solely credited to his talent, not the performance of his car.

nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
