Yuki Tsunoda is Ready to Bear “All the Pressure” at Red Bull!

Yuki Tsunoda stepped into the 2025 season with a massive disappointment. In spite of his experience, he was not chosen over Red Bull rookie Liam Lawson for the second seat. Tsunoda turned the tables in his favor after proving himself better than Lawson in the first two races of the season. Yuki Tsunoda will start his first race as a Red Bull driver at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix.

According to Tsunoda, he was more than ready for this role. The switch between Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson happened during the extended break between the Chinese GP and the upcoming, Japanese GP. Yuki Tsunoda will be performing in front of his home crowd in his first weekend with the senior team.

Yuki Tsunoda was always under pressure during the 2025 season. His inability to get himself a Red Bull seat raised many questions. At one point, even Red Bull were discussing his imminent release from the team. Yuki Tsunoda on the other hand, was getting ready to dethrone Lawson as Max Verstappen’s teammate.

However, this is not the end of the struggle for Yuki. Helmut Marko has given him the green signal for the entire season. But, performing alongside Verstappen in an underperforming Red Bull is going to be tricky for the Japanese driver. He will also face a lot of scrutiny at every failure and a direct comparison to Liam Lawson and previous Red Bull drivers. Although, it seems like Tsunoda has braced himself for the upcoming season with the Red Bull.

Yuki Tsunoda is Ready to Embrace High Expectations at Red Bull Racing

Tsunoda’s sudden promotion to Red Bull Racing is like a dream come true for him. He has been with Red Bull for five years as of 2025. Yuki Tsunoda’s inital years in Formula 1 were rocky compared to other Red Bull drivers. However, he improved himself consistently to land in his current position. When asked about his feeling towards the excitement and pressure surrounding himself, Tsunoda replied confidently saying-

“Put all the pressure on me”

Yuki Tsunoda’s last outing in Japan was fairly successful for him in his VCARB car. Tsunoda finished tenth to become the first Japanese driver to score points in Japan after 12 years of wait. Yuki Tsunoda is currenlty among the favorites for winning a podium at the 2025 Japanese GP. He has proven his speed in the 2025 season during the first two races of the season.
