This fight, set for UFC 313 main event on March 8th in Las Vegas, has been brewing for a while. Ankalaev feels like the champion has purposely avoided him. Now that he has got his chance, he is not just talking about winning; he is making it personal.

Magomed Ankalaev’s Response To UFC 313

The tension between these two fighters has reached the climax. Alex Pereira fired off a seemingly simple tweet aimed at Ankalaev, saying “See you soon, Ankalev.” This apparently rubbed the challenger in a wrong way as he fired off a tweet of his own.

As many fans know, it probably wasn’t him typing those words but his manager (Ali Abdelaziz) who sent these tweets out. But what really raised eyebrows was his dig at Pereira’s past. That was a pretty low blow, considering Pereira’s well-documented journey from working in a Brazilian tire shop while battling personal demons to becoming a two-division UFC champion.

As for the bookmakers, they are actually leaning toward Ankalaev in this one. What makes this feud particularly spicy is the clash of personalities and backgrounds. Fans have got Pereira; the former tire shop worker turned knockout artist who enjoys his visibility at UFC events, facing off against the stoic Dagestani warrior who claims he has been in the gym while the champ’s been “getting camera time.”

The contrast couldn’t be more stark. Whether these social media shots were actually typed by Ankalaev or his manager is beside the point – they have certainly done their job in turning this title fight into must-see TV!
