Not long ago, John Cena, who was the face of the company for two decades, turned heel on the current face of the company, Cody Rhodes. John Cena’s career was nearing its end, and he had already announced his retirement. However, after he finished as the runner-up in the Royal Rumble, his fans became optimistic. He didn’t disappoint as he won the very next PPV, the Elimination Chamber.

What followed broke the heart of not only his fans but the entire WWE Universe. Their favorite legend turned heel on Cody Rhodes. This new persona worked magic as John Cena later defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania to become the WWE Undisputed Champion for the 17th time. Cody Rhodes not only lost the match but also had to take a long route to get his rematch against the Last Real Champion.

John Cena and Cody Rhodes Inside the Squared Ring, Chaos Ensues

Cody Rhodes has been aching to get his hands on John Cena. He was able to pin John Cena in a tag team match at Money in the Bank. He then defeated Shinsuke Nakamura, Damian Priest, and Andrade in a Fatal Four-way match to qualify for the Semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament. He had to face the tough challenge from his friend Jey Uso in the Semifinals and then his mentor, Randy Orton, in the finals.

Cody Rhodes crossed both challenges and became the King of the Ring, and the first thing he did after winning was announce his match against John Cena. He announced that he would face John Cena for the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam. They would meet each other to sign the contract for their match at SummerSlam tonight.

With these two forces inside the squared ring, WWE Universe expects a fierce collision. Will Cody Rhodes choose to use unfair means to win his title back? He has hinted it twice now, first during a promo stating he would do anything to beat John Cena, and then in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, where he used Randy Orton’s back injury against him.
