The penultimate Friday night SmackDown before WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event had some exciting segments. Friday Night’s event started with “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes’ entry. He was acknowledging the crowd when “The American Made” Chad Gable interrupted him. It was decided that the two will face off for today’s main event.
In a shocking turn of events, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits are attacked backstage before their tag team title match against Motor City Machin Guns. Johnny Gargano demanded SmackDown GM Nick Aldis that the DIY will replace The Street Profits for the tag team title match.
The match started with a civil war between the DIY. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were seen having a go at each other during the match. Both the superstars of DIY were seen arguing with each other during the match.
It was Motor City Machin Guns who were dominating when Tommaso Ciampa tried to enter the ring with a steel chair yelling Gargano was useless. The referee went to stop him. Gargano took advantage and gave a Low Blow to Sabin. Both DIY members shared a laugh showing the dispute between them was all part of the big act.
Gargano tagged Ciampa and both performed Meeting in the Middle to win the match. DIY are the new tag team champions. It can be seen that DIY were the one who won the title owing to an attack on The Street Profit. We can easily speculate that the attack on The Street Profits was a planned one by the DIY.
Cody is set to defend his WWE Undisputed title against the K.O.. However, he had a match with American Made’s Chad Gable. Chad from the very beginning of the match tried to injure Cody’s ankle and knee. The Ankle lock performed on the already injured leg didn’t help either.
Gable tried to dominate The American Nightmare from the beginning. They both performed a few chops on each other and it was Gable’s Angle Lock that troubled Cody. Cody can back in the match with an inverted Superplex and a power slam.
Cody performed a Cody Cutter for a two count. Cody performed a second Cody Cutter, followed by Cross Rhodes to win the match. It was Kevin Owen who entered the ring after Cody’s victory and stomped the already injured leg. The two had a brawl after that which was separated by the officials.
The Triple Threat match between Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, and Electra Lopez was exciting to watch where all the three superstars gave it their all. All three superstars took turns dominating the game. It was Naomi’s time to glow, however, Miss Money in the Bank Tiffany had some other ideas.
She performed the “Prettiest Moonsault Ever” on Naomi, who was trying to pin Lopez. She then threw Naomi out of the ring and pinned Lopez to win the match. Chelsea Green, Bayley, Michin, and Miss MITB Tiffany are the four semifinalists for the Women’s US title.
Bianca was attacked backstage by Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. The match between Bianca and Piper was kind of a handicap match where the Tag Team Champion was already struggling with her injured ribs and Piper Niven had Chelsea by her side. Piper Niven dominated the EST as she was struggling with her ribs. The EST tried to pick Piper for Kiss of Death however her ribs gave up.
Piper again took command in the match. It was in the final moments of the game that EST grabbed a hold of the game. Chelsea tried to interrupt. Bianca pulled her inside the ring and performed K.O.D on Piper, throwing her on Chelsea. Bianca pinned Piper and won the game.
Shinsuke Nakamura entered the ring and LA Knight followed claiming a rematch for the WWE United States title. He was having a go at Nakamura with his words when Andrade entered the ring. However, both of them were attacked from behind by “The Enforcer” Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

Solo performed Samoan Spike on both and turned to Nakamura who left the ring to avoid any damage. He then took to the crowd and stated that no one should think they were weak because his two soldiers were injured. He is still their Tribal Chief. He still is Head of the Table. He still has the Ulafala. So they need to acknowledge him.
