WWE Raw Result: Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley to defend her WWE Intercontinental Championship

Lyra Valkyria ticked one more box in his otherwise illustrious career.

Lyra Valkyria has been obsessed with her mentor, Bayley ever since the latter defeated her in an Elimination Chamber Qualification match. She has been trying to get a match against Bayley and prove to herself and everyone else that she can beat Bayley. Bayley also wanted the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship opportunity so it far only fair that they met inside the squared ring.

Lyra Valkyria has been undefeated while defending her title and has been a fighting champion for 84 days now. She has defended her title against the likes of Dakota Kai, Ivy Nile, and Raquel Rodriguez. She has only been pinned once ever since she became the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion and it was off the hands of Bayley.

Lyra Valkyria proved herself worthy by defeating Bayley

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley were in the match of their lives when they faced each other. They didn’t give each other an inch during the matches. The dominance in the match shifted from one opponent to another like a Pendulum. WWE Universe witnessed great agility from Lyra Valkyria, while Bayley showed why she is a veteran of the WWE locker room. The match was near stalemate numerous times but the stakes were too high.

Lyra Valkyria delivered a Nightwing but couldn’t get it in full swing and Bayley Kicked out. She then delivered a Tornado DDT followed by Fisherman Suplex but it wasn’t enough to pin Bayley. Bayley clutched Lyra in a sharpshooter but knowing Lyra would tap out, she went for the Roseplant but Lyra reversed it in a pin attempt and won the match.

Bayley hasn’t won a match for a long time now and the frustration could be easily seen on her face but she kept it aside and congratulated Lyra after the match. They are scheduled to join forces in a Gauntlet tag team match for the #1 contendership on Friday Night SmackDown.
