Playoff race tightens as Golden State overpower Connecticut

The Sun vs. Valkyries matchup unfolded Monday night at Chase Center, delivering a vital contest for both playoff hopefuls. The Golden State Valkyries have been producing statement performances, strengthening their playoff credentials with each passing game this season.

They started the game strongly with 14-10 in the first half. However, the Connecticut Sun raised their level in the second quarter, but still entered halftime trailing 16-18 to the hosts. The home side had a good lead going into the second half.

They continued their domination with a 23-18 score in the third quarter. The Connecticut Sun were effectively out of the game by the end of the third quarter. This led to some rotations from the Valkyries coach.
