The Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream 77-60 in Game 2 of their first-round WNBA playoff series at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, tying the series 1-1 and forcing a decisive Game 3. Playing their first home playoff game since 2016, the Fever led from start to finish, building an early advantage and never trailing.

Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, while Aliyah Boston added 15 points and five rebounds. Indiana’s defense held Atlanta to 37.9% shooting from the field and just 5-of-19 from beyond the arc, limiting the Dream to their second-lowest point total of the season.

Atlanta struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the night. Te-Hina Paopao scored 11 points off the bench, and Rhyne Howard added 10, but no other Dream player reached double figures. The Fever’s defensive pressure and rebounding edge, matched Atlanta’s 31 defensive boards and forced key turnovers, preventing the Dream from sustaining any scoring runs.

The Indiana Fever closed the third quarter on a 7-0 spurt, capped by a Lexie Hull buzzer-beating three-pointer, and then opened the fourth with an 8-0 run to put the game out of reach. The game also saw a brief incident in the fourth quarter when two courtside fans were escorted out after an exchange with Atlanta’s Allisha Gray.

Despite that, the Fever maintained focus and controlled the tempo until the final buzzer. The win marked Indiana Fever’s first postseason victory since 2015, ending a nine-year drought. Game 3 will be played in Atlanta, with the winner advancing to face the No. 2 seed in the semifinals.
