The Golden State Warriors will return to Target Center for Game 2 of the Conference Semifinals Series against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, May 8. The Dubs will be on the back of a 99-88 win in Game 1, and they will seek a 2-0 lead before action shifts to Chase Center in San Francisco for the next two games.

The seven-time champions, who headed into the series with a 4-3 win over the Houston Rockets in the first round, received a major setback despite opening the Semifinal series with a bang. The Warriors lost their icon Stephen Curry with a hamstring injury during the second quarter, while the 37-year-old was attempting a defensive play.

He limped off the court and went straight to the locker room, and didn’t return for the remainder of the game. The 11-time All-Star underwent an MRI examination on Wednesday, which revealed that he suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain. According to the official release by the Warriors, Curry will be re-examined after a week.

Will Stephen Curry Play Tonight?

According to the updates, Curry will be out of action for at least a week with the injury he suffered on Tuesday night. The seven-time champions have also listed him out on the official injury re port for Game 2. Considering the update, Curry isn’t likely to be featured in the lineup at least through Game 4 of the Dubs’ second-round playoff series against the Timberwolves. The Game 4 is scheduled for Monday, May 12 in San Francisco.

According to reports by NBA insider Anthony Slater, Curry is in Minnesota with the team and will begin his rehabilitation process with Rick Celebrini on the road.

A major concern that looms over his injury is that the four-time NBA champion has never had a major hamstring injury in his career, casting more doubts around his recovery time and the number of games he will miss at such a crucial stage. While the Dubs were expecting that Curry would miss Game 2, the extent of his injury has now put them in an alarming stage.
