Steph Curry had a hamstring injury in the middle of the second quarter of game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 37-year-old left the game and never returned to action on Tuesday night. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has provided a major update on the injury.
Steve Kerr in the post match conference said, “Just day-to-day. We’ll get an MRI tomorrow. I talked to him at halftime – he’s obviously crushed. But the guys picked him up and played a great game.” The update from Kerr looks like Steph Curry might be dealing with Grade 1 strain which is not very serious. But the unpredictability remains due to the complex nature of hamstring injuries.

Left hamstring strain
Even if this is a mild hamstring strain, they often take 5-7 days to calm down.
It’s possible he returns sooner but he will be severely restricted.
If it’s moderate he’s going to be out for a several weeks.

The Golden State Warriors is already trying to prepare for game 2 without Curry. On that, Kerr added, “We’re definitely game-planning for him not to be available on Thursday. With a hamstring, it’s hard to imagine he’d play. We don’t know yet (for sure), we have to talk about (finding offense without Steph).”
Steph Curry played only for 13 minutes until he was out due to the injury. However, the baby faced assassin made a deep impact during his presence on the court. Curry scored 13 points shooting an efficient 5 of 9 from the field, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range. Buddy Hield and Jimmy Butler took over the offense after Curry checked out.
Golden State Warriors has a dangerous bench that can go berserk on its day. In the absence of Steph Curry, role players stepped up to take away a massive victory on Tuesday. Gary Payton II scored eight points going 3 of 4 from the field. Jonathan Kuminga added 7 points as well in a limited time.
Pat Spence who has been gaining a lot of attention lately continued to impress again. He scored 4 points, going 2 of 4 from the field. Buddy Field and Jimmy Butler led the scoresheet, scoring 24 and 20 respectively. The Golden State Warriors registered a 99-88 win on Tuesday.
