The NFL regular season is back today, and the very first game of the new season falls under the Thursday Night Football (TNF) slate. The broadcast rights for TNF have been given to Prime Video, but as this is the season opener, the game will be broadcast on NBC instead.

Prime Video will still air the remaining 16 regular-season TNF games as well as one of the Wild Card round games, which will be determined later in the season. The 2025-26 NFL season will be the fourth year that Amazon Prime Video will broadcast these games.

Who’s playing on Thursday Night Football?

The week 1 TNF game will take place between the Philadelphia Eagles and the visiting Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East division battle to kick things off. This will be the first of two games between these two teams this season, with the second game taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Eagles are the defending Super Bowl Champions, and they will be looking to continue exactly where they ended last season. With much of the roster back for another season, Philadelphia boasts a strong all-around squad.

As for Dallas, the signing of wide receiver George Pickens is expected to provide Dak Prescott with another top weapon on offense alongside WR1 CeeDee Lamb. However, Micah Parsons’ trade to the Packers has dealt a severe blow to the Cowboys’ defense.

The week 1 Thursday Night Football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys is set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
