What Time Do The Dallas Cowboys Play Tonight And What Channel? 2025-26 NFL Week 1 Season Opener, Cowboys Game Tonight, TV Channel, Kick-Off Time

The 2025-26 NFL regular season kicks off tonight with the Cowboys taking on the Eagles!

NFL enthusiasts, get ready. The 2025-26 season officially gets underway tonight as the Dallas Cowboys go head-to-head against the defending Super Bowl Champions and their NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both teams are coming into this matchup after contrasting seasons in 2024. Dallas was horrendous last season, registering just a 7-10 season and missing out on the playoffs altogether, while the Eagles, as we all know, went on to lift their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

Who Do the Dallas Cowboys Play Tonight?

The Dallas Cowboys begin their season with this week 1 matchup against longtime divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. Last season, the Eagles trounced the Cowboys in both games of the regular season, winning the first one 34-6 in Dallas, while crushing the Cowboys again 41-7 at home.

Those are not the best memories for Cowboys fans, but both games came after Dak Prescott’s injury that forced him out for the season after the first 8 games. This time, however, the biggest blow to the team is the loss of edge rusher Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers just days prior to the week 1 kickoff.

As for ‘The Birds’, well, they begin their title defense with one of the strongest rosters in the league. Last season, they were impeccable and flew under the radar, making their way to second place in the NFC with a 14-3 record. The perfect mixture of youth and experience guided the team to its destination, and this year, they are back to defend their crown.

What Time Do the Dallas Cowboys Play Tonight?

The season opener between the Cowboys and the Eagles is set to take place on Thursday, September 4, at 8:20 p.m. ET (7:20 p.m. CT). The first game of the 2025-26 regular season will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Expect an electrifying atmosphere throughout the game as the Eagles will play in front of their fans for the first time since winning Super Bowl LIX over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, Louisiana.

What Channel Is the Dallas Cowboys Game On?

The week 1 game between the Cowboys and the Eagles will be broadcast on national television by NBC, with streaming also available on Peacock. Despite the game falling in the Thursday Night Football (TNF) slate, the broadcast rights for the season opener belong to NBC and not Prime Video, as is normally the case for all TNF games.

Mike Tirico (play-by-play) and Cris Collinsworth (analyst) will be back for yet another season as part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football (SNF) crew, along with Melissa Stark providing sideline coverage, and Terry McAulay also available for expert rules analysis.

Fans who wish to stream the game can also do so on streaming partners such as NFL+, YouTube TV, and Hulu.

Game details:

  • Date: Thursday, September 4, 2025
  • Time: 8:20 p.m. ET (7:20 p.m. CT)
  • Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • TV: NBC
  • Streaming: Peacock, NFL+, YouTube TV, Hulu

It is only the first week of the regular season, but the game still carries plenty of importance when it comes to the postseason. Being a divisional game, both teams would want to establish the upper hand and carry the momentum for the rest of the season.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
