Week 18 Sunday Night Football game tonight will be played between the Detroit Lions (14-2) and the Minnesota Vikings (14-2). A home game for Detroit who finished their on the road games undefeated, the Lions have a 6-2 record at home this season.
The Lions are ranked 3rd in terms of offense this season as compared to the Vikings who are ranked 13th. But the Viking boast a stronger defense (ranked 11th) as compared to Detroit (18th). The Lions are also ranked superior in passing and rushing (2nd and 7th respectively) as compared to the Vikings who are ranked 7th and 22nd.

While both the teams are expected to come out with all guns blazing and field their best sides, the Lions will be without RB David Montgomery. There are major injuries for the Vikings except for OLB Patrick Jones II who has been ruled out due to a knee injury.
A win here for either side means clinching the NFC North, getting the #1 NFC seed which gives a home field advantage till the Super Bowl (provided the team keeps winning). The #1 seed also gets a bye for the wildcard round.
The Minnesota Vikings lead the overall head to head against the Detroit Lions by 80-44-2. But the Lions have a 5-1 advantage in the last 6 games played between the two teams. The Lions also managed to pull on a last minute win over the Vikings in the week 7 game versus Minnesota. Jake Bates scored the match winning field goal with 0:15 left on the clock.
