Mac McClung pulled off the greatest achievement on the NBA All-Star Slam-Dunk Contest by winning it for the third straight time. The Osceola Magic star edged out Rising Stars MVP, Stephon Castle in an entertaining final round. It was the final contest on Saturday’s NBA’s All-Star event, followed by the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest.
The 26-year-old became the first player in Slam-Dunk Contest history to complete the three-peat. McClung notched up a perfect score of 200 with jaw-dropping four dunks.

Mac McClung is playing for the Osceola Magic in the G League and has also played one game for the Orlando Magic. He played college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. McClung won the 2021–22 NBA G League Rookie of the Year award with the South Bay Lakers.
McClung earned the recognition when he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2024 for the second time, joining Michael Jordan, Jason Richardson, Nate Robinson and Zach LaVine. In the same year, he was named G League Most Valuable Player, averaging 25.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists.
Mac McClung was not picked in the 2021 NBA draft but during a stint with the South Bay Lakers, he signed a two-way contract with the Lakers in 2022 but he become a free agent in the summer. McClung then joined the Lakers for the California Classic in the 2022 NBA Summer League. He also joined the Golden State Warriors’ summer squad but was released before the regular season.
McClung also spent 2022-23 season with the Blue Coats before joining the 76ers in February 2023. His struggles with the NBA team continues. Orlando Magic signed him in September 2023 but he was waived after one month. In September 2024, Orlando Magic re-signed McClung with a two-way contract.
