Shyanne Sellers is one of the 15 players invited by the WNBA for the 2025 draft.
Shyanne Sellers is one of the dynamic stars and was selected No. 4 by the Golden State Valkyries in the 2025 WNBA draft. The Maryland student recently became the first player in program history to cross 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. She has been terrific in her senior season, averaging 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
Shyanne has first-team all-Big Ten honors for the third straight season. In Junior season, she averaged 15.6 points, 5.5 assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. Just before the WNBA draft, she announced her engagement to former Maryland teammate Faith Masonius.
Shyanne Sellers guided her team to the Big Ten Conference and also led her team to a maiden NCAA Sweet 16 appearance this year. She is one of the 15 players invited by the WNBA for the 2025 draft. Shyanne finished her Maryland career ranked 3rd in assists (523) and 12th in scoring (1,676) for the program.

Brad and Kymberly Sellers are Shyanne Sellers’s parents. Basketball runs in the blood of her family as her father is a former NBA player. Shyanne has three sisters, Sydney, Syarra and Shayla. Syarra played college basketball at Thomas More, and Shayla played at Purdue Fort Wayne. After announcing the engagement with her teammate, her sisters were in tears. Shyanne is openly a member of the LGBTQ community.
Shyanne’s mother is Kymberly Sellers. She is a radio host, a motivational speaker, an advocate and the mother of four children. She is also the founder of The Kym Sellers Foundation which is based in Ohio.
Shyanne’s father is Brad Sellers, who is a former basketball player and currently the mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Her father played college basketball at Wisconsin and Ohio State. He has also played in the NBA alongside Michael Jordan after being drafted in 1986 by the Chicago Bulls. He also had stints with the Seattle SuperSonics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Detroit Pistons. Following a retirement in 1999, Brad Sellers covered games as a commentator for the Cavaliers.
