Georgia Amoore was part of 16 prospects who were invited to the WNBA Draft 2025 and was picked by the Washington Mystics as the No. 6 overall pick. The 21-year-old guard moved to Kentucky last year after an impressive stint with Virginia Tech. She led Virginia Tech to its maiden ACC tournament title in 2023. Georgia Amoore is only the third Division I player after Caitlin Clark, and Sabrina Ionescu to score over 2,300 points and dish out more than 800 assists in their careers.

Phil Amoore and Kelly Amoore are Georgia Amoore’ parents. The Kentucky star got valuable support from her family despite residing in Australia. Her father’s background in athletics motivated her to choose basketball.

“Being the firstborn, we let her play as many sports as she wanted. I even pushed her to try different ones because, honestly, I worried basketball might be tough for her with her height,” her mother said.
