Mike Green was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with pick number 59 in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft. Green played as a defensive lineman for the Marshall Thundering Herd. Based on his talent, Green could have been drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft, according to various sources.

Green’s draft stock has taken a massive hit, and this is because of his off-field issues, which seem to be too much of a problem for most teams. Green had a sexual assault allegation while playing at Virginia (prior to joining Marshall), and he had the same allegation when he was playing at high school, which has the NFL teams questioning his character, and Virginia even requested him to sign a Zero Tolerance Policy.

Green has the perfect size, as he’s listed at 6-feet-4-inches, and had one of the most decorated seasons in Marshall history in 2024. He put up 17.0 sacks, had 22.5 tackles for loss, and had 84 tackles last year. Green’s 17.0 sacks tied the Sun Belt Conference record and tied the record set by Cecil Fletcher in 1986. He was extremely consistent with his production, recording a tackle for loss in 12 out of the 13 games that he played, and also recorded at least one sack in 10 out of the 13 games played. Due to Green’s dominance, he was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, All-SBC First-Team Defense, and the HERO G5 Defensive Player of the Year.
