J’Wan Roberts is one of the key players for the Houston Cougars, who scripted a remarkable comeback against Duke to reach the NCAA championship game. Robert, a 63% free-throw shooter, has been at Houston for six seasons and will be seeking a maiden NCAA title on Monday night.

Roberts made two with 19 seconds left to help Houston take a decisive lead in the Final Four and later, defended a final shot by Cooper Flagg. He tallied 12 rebounds, 11 points and five assists against the Blue Devils.

Roberts was part of the Cougars’ 2021 Final Four team that lost in the semifinals to eventual winners, Baylor. Houston qualified for another regional final the following season and appeared in the Sweet 16 on consecutive years before reaching the final.

Roberts got a chance to play the fifth season due to NCAA rule and he became the fourth player with 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 points in program history this season. The 6-9 fifth-year sensation will aim for the first national title when Houston will take on Florida in the championship game on Monday.
