Azzi Fudd, a senior at UConn, has made a name for herself as one of the most popular and reliable players in women’s collegiate basketball. She has been celebrated player since her days at St. John’s High School in Washington D.C. and while it was thought to be difficult in the beginning, Fudd has successfully maintained her legacy at college.

In her freshman year at UConn, Fudd was awarded the Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year. She finished the season with 12.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists and was named Bridgeport All-Region Team for her performance. She also played a key role in guiding the side to the national championship game where the side lost to South Carolina 69-49.

Fudd missed most of the time during her sophomore year with a knee injury and it was the season, UConn lost two straight games for the first time since March 1993. Not only this but the side also lost multiple games to unranked rivals for the first time since 2003-04.

In her senior year, Fudd became the eighth player in the history of UConn to score eight three-pointers in a game. Following the game, she was named to the All-Big East First Team. While she was eligible for the WNBA draft, Fudd announced in March 2025 that she would return to UConn.

Fudd has become a successful name in women’s collegiate basketball, and needless to say, her parents have played a crucial role in her journey.
