After years of struggling, the Washington Commanders look like they are starting to make progress. Under head coach Dan Quinn, the Commanders won 12 games and lost only 5 games in the 2024 season. This may not be the best record you have ever seen but compared to a 4-13 record last season, it is a hell of an improvement within a year.

The turnaround for the Commanders has brought tears to many fans’ eyes. It is what every one was waiting for. The Washington Commanders are relevant again and their best player is none other than Jayden Daniels.

Jayden Daniels came into the league as the number two overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Many overlooked what or who he could become in the NFL as he was not the number one pick and all eyes were on Caleb Williams. To everybody’s surprise, so far, Daniels has been the superior quarterback and has led his team which further than the number one pick.

One may argue that the Commanders had an easier schedule, we also need to see the bigger picture. They rarely won any games before and the last time the Commanders were in the divisional round was back in 2006. Back when George Bush was still the U.S president!

The Commanders won their first playoff matchup in the wildcard round of the 2024-25 playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield. It took Jayden Daniels and Zane Gonzales’ late game heroics to win the game. Ugly win or not, here they come.

Daniels and the Commanders have a chance to advance to the NFC Championship round which they haven’t seen since 1991. However, they have a tough opponent and their chances to get past, is most certainly slim. Let us look at who the Commanders will play against and what time the game is?

The Washington Commanders will play against the Detroit Lions in the NFL Divisional round of the 2024-25 playoffs. The Commanders will travel to play the Lions in their home stadium known as Ford Field in Downtown Detroit, Michigan.

Dan Campbell has done a phenomenal job with the Lions as the hold the best record in the NFC and their Super Bowl aspirations may just come true. Jared Goff is arguably coming off of his best season thus far. Leading the team with 4629 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 111.8. Goff was also selected to the Pro-Bowl this season. He play has led the Lions to a 15-2 record.

Jayden Daniels on the other hand is in his rookie season and has 3568 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and had 100.1 passer rate. His outstanding rookie season got him selected to the Pro-Bowl and has already beat all the expectations that were around him.

The will be an interesting matchup as the sixth seed in the NFC conference will take on the number one seed. Many expect the odds to be heavily stacked up against the Commanders. However, they did just beat the third seed and their confidence is at an all time high.
