All season long the Houston Texans have been hanging around for the playoff spot. They finished the NFL regular season with a record of 10 wins and 7 losses. Not the best record but the Texans are back in the playoffs for back-to-back seasons under head coach DeMeco Ryans. While the Texans are an average team overall, they do have a franchise quarterback they can rely on for years to come.

C.J. Stroud has had somewhat of a down year compared to his rookie season in 2023. However, that was expected as the efficiency and the stats were far too great for it to be sustained every year. Last season, Stroud led the Texans to a 9-6 record and he won his first playoff game against the Cleveland Browns with the final score being 45-14, absolutely destroying them.

In the divisional round of the 2023 playoffs, Stroud played against the Ravens but could not beat them as Lamar Jackson proved to be too huge a challenge.

In 2024, Texans have not improved much in terms of their record but they did beat the Chargers in the wildcard round. Now they are headed back to the divisional round but have arguably the toughest matchup a team can ask for. The question remains; Can C.J. Stroud help his team advance to the AFC Championship round or will he yet again get knocked off in the divisional round?

During the regular season the Chiefs looked unstoppable and at a point, many believed, that they were going to finish the season undefeated. While that might not be the case, the Chiefs have the best record in AFC and have clinched home-field advantage for the entire playoffs.

For the Texans, the road ahead is looks extremely tough but they will not go down easy. The Texans were 10-7 in the regular season and have a similar record to what they had last year.

These two teams have met once in the regular season where the Chiefs defeated the Texans. The final score being 27-19 in favor of the chiefs. If the Texans are to beat the Chiefs, they will have to play the best football they can. Key players such as C.J. Stroud, Joe Mixon, Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, and Eric Murray will have to step-up to beat the Chiefs. The team that wins will advance to the Conference Finals and each team has their own goals.

The Chiefs have a chance to three-peat, which has never been done before. Meanwhile, the Texans has never reached the AFC Championship round and they have a chance to move-on this season.

Kansas City Chiefs are certainly the favorites to not just win this round but to win it all, yet again. However, the Texans have not reached the AFC Championship round yet, which has certainly been a target for the squad every season.
