Los Angeles Clippers are currently sitting at the 7th spot in the Western Conference.
There are only 12 games remaining for the Los Angeles Clippers before the start of the postseason. The Clippers have won the last 5 games and are gathering momentum as the playoffs approach. There are some major questions that are to be asked for the Clippers and one of them is if Kawhi Leonard can remain healthy for the Clippers to make a deep playoff run.
As we have seen in the past, Leonard has a long list of injury history, which has hurt the team’s chances of going further into the playoffs. Last season, we saw Leonard play only two playoff games before he was ruled out for the rest of the year, and the year prior where Leonard was averaging 34.5 points against the Suns, but again only managed to show up for two games before going down with an injury.

Tyronn Lue, the head coach of the Clippers, has, as always, done the best he could with the given roster, and even though they lost Paul George to the 76ers, Lue has managed to keep the Clippers in the playoff or the play-in picture. With James Harden having a revitalizing season, and the emergence of Norman Powell as the third option, the Clips could make some noise come postseason and possibly win a series or two in the playoffs.
With that said, let us look at the Clippers chances of making it into the playoffs.
The number one seed in the west is already locked for the Oklahoma City Thunder and no team in the west is even going to come close to challenge them. The Nuggets, the Rockets, the Lakers, and the Grizzlies, are all battling for the 2nd seed in the west. Whereas, the sixth seed is currently up for grabs between the Warriors, the Clippers, and the Timberwolves. Ever since the Jimmy Butler trade, the Warriors have been winning but the recent injury that Steph Curry suffered, may hurt the Dubs chances to lock themselves for the 6th seed.

As stated earlier, the Clippers have won last 5 games and their stars, James Harden and the Klaw are currently on a roll. If they continue to win games, they could push the Warriors out of the sixth seed and take it away.
The Clippers currently at sit 7th place in the West with a 40-30 record, and are projected to fall to the 8th seed. They have 81.0 % chance to make it into the playoffs according to Basketball Reference. The also have a 38.6% chance to finish the season as the 7th seed, a 25.1% chance to finish as the 8th seed, and only 10.7% chance to finish as the sixth seed.
| Playoff Seed | Percentage |
| 3 | 0.4 |
| 4 | 1.7 |
| 5 | 4.5 |
| 6 | 10.7 |
| 7 | 38.6 |
| 8 | 25.1 |
The Clippers are highly likely to finish as the sixth or the seventh seed, provided that they do not lose a whole lot of games. If the Clippers get the 7th seed, as the standings currently are, they will play the Houston Rockets who’s the 2nd seed in the west currently. That will be a favorable matchup for them as the Rockets have no prior experience in the playoffs with their current squad.

However, if they land on the 8th spot, that would mean they’ll have to play OKC and nobody would want to face the best team in the very first round of the playoffs. Lastly, if they finish 6th in the west, they’ll have to face their divisional rival the L.A Lakers, who are a championship contending team.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
