‘We Know Where He Is Going’ – Arne Slot Confirms Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Next Destination?

In a recent press conference, Liverpool manager Arne Slot subtly confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold's next destination.

Last week, Trent Alexander-Arnold announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2024–25 season. Despite months of negotiations and Liverpool’s desire to keep him, the right-back opted for a fresh challenge. Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed his disappointment over Alexander-Arnold’s decision to leave Liverpool.

While Alexander-Arnold’s exit has drawn mixed reactions from the Liverpool fans, Slot acknowledged the weight of losing such a pivotal figure and admitted it was tough to see the stylish right-back go. Despite the setback, Slot remained confident that Liverpool would bring “a very good player” to fill the void left by TAA’s absence.

Slot Speaks on Alexander-Arnold’s Future

The right back is widely expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, with a deal believed to be in the advanced stages. In a recent press conference, Arne Slot acknowledged Liverpool vice-captain’s impending departure from the club and also subtly confirmed the defender’s next destination. Slot was asked about Alexander-Arnold’s future and the Dutch manager responded with a knowing smile.

Slot said,

“I think like everybody who likes Liverpool and is a fan of Liverpool, we are disappointed for him leaving. Because not only a good human leaving, but a very good full-back is leaving us as well.”

“For me it is impossible to comment on where he is going or if that is a club that is going to play in the Club World Cup. You see in my smile that we both know where he is going to, but it hasn’t been said yet. That’s impossible for me to comment on.”

As Liverpool prepares for life without Alexander-Arnold, Slot confirmed that 21-year old Conor Bradley is set to start in the upcoming match against Arsenal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold rose from the academy ranks at Liverpool to become one of the best full-backs in world football. Since making his debut in 2016, Trent has gone on to make 352 appearances for Liverpool and scored 23 goals in the process. Alexander-Arnold played a key role in Liverpool’s latest Premier League triumph under Arne Slot and was also instrumental in their 2019-20 title win under Jurgen Klopp.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s trophy cabinet also includes the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League, the 2022 FA Cup, and two League Cups, cementing his legacy as one of the most influential players to emerge from Liverpool’s academy.
