AC Milan vs Bologna Serie A – Injury News, Match Preview and Predicted Line-Ups

Abhinav Goel

For Milan, the focus will be on building momentum and salvaging some pride from a disappointing league campaign.

In a rehearsal for next week’s Coppa Italia final, AC Milan and Bologna square off in Friday night’s Serie A showdown at San Siro. Milan’s hopes of climbing further up the points table are limited as they sit ninth following a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win over Genoa.

Meanwhile, Bologna are firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish. Bologna were held to a 1-1 draw by Juventus last weekend. They missed the chance to leapfrog the Bianconeri into fourth. Still firmly in the running for the top-four race, Bologna cannot afford any more slip-ups as they chase down Juventus and Atalanta.

For Milan, the focus will be on building momentum and salvaging some pride from a disappointing league campaign that sees them languishing in mid-table. On the other hand, three points in Milan could prove vital in Bologna’s bid to secure Champions League football.

For this match, Milan players will take to the field with their mothers’ surnames on the back of their jerseys in place of their own. This initiave will be done to celebrate Mother’s Day in a special way.

AC Milan Injury News

AC Milan will be without star forward Rafael Leao, who is serving a suspension. However, they’ve received a timely boost as Tammy Abraham has returned to full training following a thigh issue and could be in contention to start, competing with Luka Jovic and Santiago Gimenez for the striker’s role.

Defensively, Emerson Royal may make the squad after a lengthy injury layoff, though midfielder Youssouf Fofana remains a doubt due to a lingering foot problem and will be assessed closer to kick-off. Warren Bondo (ankle) and Riccardo Sottil (thigh) are both ruled out.

AC Milan Predicted Line-Up
