UFC Result Last Night: Anthony Hernandez Dominates Roman Dolidze; Elijah Smith Continues His Rise With A Spectacular KO!

The UFC APEX in Las Vegas witnessed another night of spectacular fights this weekend. UFC Vegas 109 delivered everything fans could want from mixed martial arts. Knockouts, submissions, and close decisions kept viewers glued to their screens throughout the evening. The event showcased both rising stars and veteran fighters looking to make their mark.

Here, we have compiled the results of the main card and the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 109.

UFC Vegas 109 Main Card Results

Anthony Hernandez put on a masterclass against Roman Dolidze in the main event. He controlled the fight from the opening bell with his signature pressure style. Hernandez never let Dolidze find his rhythm or establish any offensive flow. The longer the fight went, the more dominant Hernandez became. He repeatedly took Dolidze down and punished him on the ground. Late in the fourth round, Hernandez landed heavy knees against the fence before securing a rear naked choke. The submission came at 2:45 of round four, extending his winning streak to eight fights. This performance solidified his position as a legitimate contender in the middleweight division.

Steve Erceg bounced back from his recent struggles with a hard fought decision win over Ode Osbourne. The former title challenger had been dealing with a three fight losing streak. Osbourne proved to be a dangerous opponent early, clipping Erceg and using his speed advantage effectively. But Erceg showed his championship level experience by recovering and finding his own moments. He used his grappling in the final round to control Osbourne and secure the victory. All three judges scored it 29-28 for Erceg.

Iasmin Lucindo outworked Angela Hill to earn a solid unanimous decision victory. She controlled most of the action with heavier strikes and effective grappling. Hill had her moments throughout the fight, but Lucindo’s power advantage was noticeable in every exchange. This victory should keep her ranked in the top ten of the strawweight division.

Andre Fili edged out Christian Rodriguez in a back-and-forth battle that went the distance. The veteran featherweight showed his experience by timing Rodriguez’s advances perfectly in the first round. Rodriguez found success in the second round by closing the distance more effectively. But Fili’s wrestling became the deciding factor in the third round when Rodriguez was building momentum. The judges gave Fili the split decision victory, helping him return to winning ways.

Christian Leroy Duncan finally lived up to his potential with a devastating knockout of Eryk Anders. The British striker opened with some early fouls before finding his range against the aggressive Anders. Duncan’s spinning elbow landed perfectly, sending Anders staggering backward. The follow up strikes finished the job at 3:53 of the first round. This performance showed why Duncan was considered such a promising prospect coming into the promotion.

UFC Vegas 109 Preliminary Card Results

The preliminary card featured several exciting performances. Julius Walker earned his first UFC victory by grinding out Raffael Cerqueira over three rounds. Walker used his wrestling advantage to control most of the fight on the ground. Cerqueira hurt Walker twice in the final round but couldn’t capitalize on his opportunities. All three judges scored the fight for Walker, giving him his first octagon victory.

Elijah Smith delivered the most spectacular finish of the preliminary card. The 22 year old bantamweight caught Toshiomi Kazama with a flying knee early in the fight. As they worked through positions on the ground, Kazama attempted a triangle choke. Smith channeled his inner Rampage Jackson by lifting Kazama and slamming him down hard! The impact knocked Kazama unconscious at 4:10 of the first round. This finish extended Smith’s winning streak to seven fights and announced him as a bantamweight to watch.

Joselyne Edwards continued her hot streak with a first round knockout of Priscila Cachoeira. Edwards caught the aggressive Brazilian with a clean right hook that ended the fight at 2:24. Uros Medic scored a thrilling first-round KO over Gilbert Urbina. Despite being dropped early, the Serbian recovered and landed a crushing left hand just over a minute in.

Gabriella Fernandes followed with a unanimous decision win over Julija Stoliarenko, using sharp body kicks, strong striking, and improved takedown defense to secure her third straight UFC victory. In the opener, Eric McConico earned his first UFC win via split decision against Cody Brundage. After rocking Brundage early, McConico faced a wrestling heavy response but rallied in later exchanges to edge the scorecards.
