UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev Has A 5-Word Reaction To Reinier de Ridder Losing Against Brendan Allen At UFC Vancouver

Zaid Quraishi

Fighter reactions on social media can be absolutely ruthless sometimes. When someone quits on their stool, the internet never forgets. UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev knows how to stir the pot better than most. He’s built a reputation for trash talk that cuts deep. His unfiltered commentary has targeted everyone from Conor McGregor to Dana White himself. So when Reinier de Ridder’s corner stopped the fight at UFC Vancouver, Chimaev was watching closely. The Chechen fighter had his phone ready for what came next.

Brendan Allen dominated de Ridder over four grueling rounds in the main event of UFC Vancouver. After the fourth round ended, de Ridder could barely stand up. He slowly dragged himself back to his corner, looking completely exhausted. A ringside doctor checked on him before his corner made the call. They stopped the fight before round five could begin. Allen immediately called out Khamzat Chimaev during his post-fight interview, demanding a title shot. But, Chimaev had other plans as he just saw his potential opponent get dismantled.

Khamzat Chimaev Rips Into Reinier de Ridder

Khamzat Chimaev wasted absolutely no time responding to the main event finish. He posted his reaction on social media with characteristic bluntness. Six words perfectly captured Chimaev’s disdain for corner stoppages.

“This bullsh*t guy give up.”

The champion clearly wasn’t impressed with how de Ridder’s night ended. Chimaev has built his entire career on pushing through adversity and finishing fights. He’s never been stopped in his professional MMA career. The idea of a fighter’s corner throwing in the towel probably feels foreign to him. His comment reflected that warrior mentality perfectly.

Paulo Costa joined Chimaev in roasting de Ridder after the fight ended. Several other UFC pros chimed in with their own reactions too. The MMA community was divided on whether de Ridder quit or if his corner made a smart decision. Some fighters praised the corner for protecting their athlete from unnecessary damage. Others agreed with Chimaev that de Ridder should have continued fighting.

Now after UFC Vancouver, it seems more than just speculation that Khamzat Chimaev will be fighting Nasourdine Imavov in his first title defense. The coin toss was between him and de Ridder (21-3). But now, the de Ridder train has left and fans might soon get to see Chimaev taking on the French contender.
