5. “Just Gotta Do A Number Two”

During the Alexander Volkov fight at UFC 229 (headlined by Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov), Derrick Lewis took a heavy shot to the midsection, and he seemed like he was hurt. Fortunately for him, he got the KO victory in the third round. When Lewis was asked about how badly they hurt him, he shrugged and in his trademark style simply said,

“I just gotta do a number two, that’s all.”

The response left fans laughing, but it also perfectly captured Lewis’s unique ability to stay relaxed and unfazed, even in the heat of a tough fight. Only ‘The Black Beast’ can turn a moment of pain into comedy and putting down his opponent at the same time!

4. “He Disrespected Popeye’s Chicken”

Fans know that Derrick Lewis is a fighter who loves to eat. And when Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier inadvertently disrespected The Black Beast’s favorite chicken, he was not happy. ‘DC’ had made a parody video of Megan Trainor’s ‘All about that Bass,’ called ‘All about that Cake’. This was all about his love for food, including Popeye’s chicken.

Cormier said that Lewis told him backstage that he wants to knockout him out.

Lewis had been talking about wanting to fight Cormier, and when he was confronted by the former double champion, Lewis admitted to why he was mad at him.

“He disrespected that Popeyes Chicken, on a commercial from years ago.”

3. “Throw My Wife’s Legs Up In The Air”

During the post fight UFC 229 post fight show, the 39-year old Lewis was asked about his plans to celebrate after the fight. Without missing a beat, he looked deadpan into the camera and revealed what he planned.

“Probably just gonna go home and throw my wife’s legs up in the air and see where it goes from there.”

The panel, which included Tyrone Woodley and Michael Bisping immediately erupted in laughter. It was safe to assume that while some fighters plan victory speeches or family dinners, Derrick Lewis might be more interested in much more!

2. “Where’s Ronda Rousey Fine A** At?”

Derrick Lewis has never been one to hold back his thoughts. His infamous flirtation with Ronda Rousey after Travis Browne’s second round KO back in 2017 is a perfect example of why fans adore his unfiltered personality.

Lewis grabbed the microphone after the win and, instead of talking strategy or the fight itself, he turned his attention to flirt with Rousey, whose husband he had just KO’d.

“Forget that guy, I got much more heart than he has. Where Ronda Rousey fine a** at?”

The comment immediately went viral, but it wasn’t just Rousey who took notice. His wife was less than impressed with Derrick’s bold remarks, soon put a stop to his flirtatious ways as she enforced a “s*x ban” until he learned to keep his compliments in check. He hasn’t mentioned Rousey again since!

1. “My Balls Was Hot”

One of Derrick Lewis’ most legendary moments came after his epic comeback victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC 229. He pulled down his shorts and stood in the Octagon in his boxers.

‘The Black Beast’ casually declared, “My balls was hot” in the middle of the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. This line became so iconic that it landed him an advertisement gig with Manscaped!

Derrick Lewis was supposed to fight Jhonata Diniz at UFC Edmonton. However, he had to pull out due to a ‘non-weight cut’ issue. Currently, he is not scheduled to fight anyone.
