Flyweight fighters Rose Namajunas and Miranda Maverick leave it all in the Octagon at the co-main event of UFC Atlanta!

The women’s flyweight division has become one of the UFC’s most competitive weight classes in recent years. Rose Namajunas made the move up from strawweight looking to reinvent herself after losing her title to Carla Esparza in 2022. The former two-time strawweight champion brought her technical striking and submission skills to 125 pounds, where she hoped to find new opportunities and challenges. The third round became a frantic battle as both fighters knew the fight hung in the balance. Maverick came out aggressive, initiating clinch work against the fence, but Namajunas reminded everyone of her championship pedigree with a perfectly timed left hook that dropped her opponent. The former champion quickly transitioned to side control and worked for various submission attempts, including an arm triangle choke that nearly ended the contest.
