Tottenham Hotspur Injury News – Ange Postecoglou Provides Updates On Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall Ahead of Their Visit to Villa Park

Spurs Face Injury Crisis as Kulusevski and Bergvall Miss Aston Villa Match, Raising Concerns for Europa League Final

Tottenham Hotspur is drowning in injuries throughout this season. Failing to put up the depth required to play in the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou paid a huge price for the sustained absences. Moreover, with possibly his most important game as a Tottenham manager lined up, the Australian is still facing some concerns on the injury front.

In the latest injury news at Tottenham, Dejan Kulusevski sustained a knock, ruling him out for the month. Returning from injury, the Swedish winger is expected to be sidelined again. Moreover, Postecoglou might also miss out on some of his major prowess in the Europa League final later this month.

Dejan Kulusevski’s Knee Surgery: A Major Blow for Spurs

Postecoglou, who hasn’t received any luck on the injury front, shared updates on Kulusevski in his pre-match interview against Aston Villa. Sharing how it impacts the lineup hugely and how the winger is in recovery, Postecoglou told Football London,

“Disappointing news. Initially, we thought it wasn’t too serious, but it blew up the day after. He’s had the surgery, which will put him out for at least a few months. We’ll see if he’ll be back for the start of next season. We’ve only got basic information at the moment.”

Continuing on the injury updates, Postecoglou also shared the tentative time of return of Lucas Bergvall and Heung-Min Son. Giving insights on where the players are in recovery, Postecoglou continued:

“No, it’s still the same sort of timeframe for Lucas. Never long term, but he’s just got out of his boot and taking his first steps on the grass, but he’ll likely be a while”

“Sonny will play tomorrow. Whether he’ll start or not, we’ll see. He reacted well to Sunday, and it makes sense to get him more match minutes, whether it’s starting or playing half of the game.”

Postecoglou also confirmed that Timo Werner has sustained a hamstring injury and will be sidelined.  Werner has missed out on significant moments in the campaign as the injury blow still keeps the loanee out of action in the coming weeks.

Amid the injury problems surrounding the Lane again, Tottenham fans will take the news of Son returning as a boost. Having their most experienced player available could raise the morale inside the dugout as the Europa League Finals are coming.

Postecoglou will have a lot riding on the UEL clash against Manchester United. Given the season Ruben Amorim is having, both of the clubs will chase a Champions League spot through the UEFA trophy. Facing the same challenges, both managers chase something positive toward the end of the season.
