Tottenham Hotspur 2025-26 Season Preview: Team Updates, New Signings, What to Expect, and More

Tottenham Hotspur are heading into the new 2025-26 footballing season with renewed vigor. The club tasted their first European glory after winning the UEFA Europa League, where they beat Manchester United 1-0. The London whites will feature in the UEFA Champions League. Thus have been building the team to go all the distance this time as well.

The London Whites sacked Ange Postecoglou, and on came Thomas Frank, who previously managed Brentford. Despite their first taste of European success, the domestic season was poor for the side. The team finished 17th, the spot above relegation. The Whites managed to scoop up just 38 points from equal games.

New Signings and Team Updates

Spurs made their intention clear this time in the summer window that they aren’t going to sit silent. The team has strategically roped in some good players to bolster their squad. For a price of £55 million, the club roped in West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus. Meanwhile, Bayern’s Mathys Tel remains on loan.

As for the defensive front, Kevin Danso has arrived at London for a price of £21 million. Young Croatian center-back Luka Vušković was also signed this summer. But the biggest loss comes in the form of their captain – Son Heung-min. After 10 long years at the club, the player has announced that he will leave the club in the summer.

The very next day, the club fortified their defensive midfield by bringing João Palhinha from Bayern Munich on a loan deal. With the deadline still looming, Spurs are still on the market looking to strengthen their squad. Especially after losing the UEFA Super Cup against PSG.

What to Expect

New manager Thomas Frank wants to build the team with young and senior players. Stalwarts likes Christian Romero and James Maddison will be the glue as youngsters like Archie Gray, Brennan Johnson and Lucas Bergvall get included in the squad.
