Tottenham Close In on PSG Striker Randal Kolo Muani

Abhinav Goel

Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer to completing a sensational move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that personal terms have been almost agreed between the player and Spurs. Tottenham Hotspur had made a late approach to sign Kolo Muani in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

Spurs have been active in the summer transfer market under new boss Thomas Frank. The Europa League winners have already brought in Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Xavi Simons to strengthen their squad. With Dominic Solanke and James Maddison sidelined through injury, Tottenham’s urgency to secure attacking reinforcements had grown.

Negotiations Still Ongoing Between Tottenham and PSG

Negotiations are still ongoing between Tottenham and PSG regarding the structure of the deal, with Paris pushing for an obligation to buy rather than an optional clause. Talks are continuing as both clubs look to finalise the deal before the transfer deadline.

The French forward, currently earning around £210,000 per week at PSG, had been widely expected to join Juventus earlier in the summer. However, Spurs have now made their move as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of a demanding season that includes a return to the Champions League.

Kolo Muani’s pace, strength and ability to operate both centrally and out wide make him a perfect fit for Spurs’ system. The French forward will add depth to a frontline that already includes Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Mohammed Kudus.

Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 in a deal worth €75m. However, he struggled to live up to expectations in Paris. After a lacklustre first half of the season marked by limited minutes and inconsistent form, the 26-year-old revived his career with a productive loan spell at Juventus. He registered 16 goal contributions for the Italian giants and impressed during their Club World Cup campaign.
