The New Day comprising of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are all set for a championship clash at WWE WrestleMania 41. They will be challenging Erik and Ivar of War Raiders who are the present World Tag Team Champions on Night 1 on April 19, 2025. Once known as a fun-loving babyface tag team, the New Day has gone over to the dark side and are presently heels in the main roster.

War Raiders are also a veteran tag team in pro wrestling. They have previously competed for Ring of Honor (ROH) wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) before WWE signed. Notably, War Machine was the tag team’s name. Likewise Erik and Ivar were known as Rowe and Hanson. They debuted in NXT as “War Raiders” and earned the NXT Tag Team Championship. They became known initially as “The Viking Raiders” with Erik and Ivar before switching back to their earlier team name in 2024. Let’s see what is going to happen when these two veteran tag teams collide on April 19, 2025.

The New Day vs. War Raiders Match Result Prediction

The New Day have taken on a more serious attitude since they expelled Big E from the team and officially became heels for the first time since 2016 on December 2, 2025. Since then, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have used all kinds of heelish tactics in 2025 to reach their present stage. Notably, the tag team has never won yet and has a 0-2 record so far. On the other hand, War Raiders, comprising of Erik and Ivar have a 1-1 record at WrestleMania. They won at WrestleMania 34 and lost at WrestleMania 37.

The win-loss record of both teams shows that The New Day needs to finally start winning at WrestleMania 41.

However, the brutality and the power of War Raiders in themight be too much for the New Day to handle since their powerhouse Big E is no longer with the team. Thus, War Raiders are expected to retain the World Tag Team Championships in the match.

This outcome can lead to two results for The New Day as a tag team. The first is that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods become even more vicious heels as a team and continue their rivalry with War Raiders for tag team gold.

The second outcome is that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods call it quits and the New Day and go their separate ways. Moreover, they can also feud with each other, each of them accusing them of their failure as a team at WrestleMania. This is likely due to the previously existing tensions between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods which eventually led to their heel turn in December 2024. Those tensions can once again resurface leading to their feud against against each other.
