The left fielders’ home run helped the Dodgers overcame their losing streak

Teoscar Hernandez rose to the occasion with a home run and saved the Los Angeles Dodgers from a four-game sweep by the Washington Nationals. The two teams had been engaged in a three-game series from April 7, 2025 to April 9, 2025. Hernandez’s home run, his fifth in the 2025 season, alongside his three run including the go-ahead run in the seventh inning sealed the deal for the Dodgers.

Teoscar Hernandez has been with the Los Angeles Dodgers for two-years since he joined the team in 2024. His first year with the team also saw him become the MLB World Series Champion when the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees. More recently, he also won the NL Silver Slugger Award for his team in 2024.

Teoscar Hernandez has once again proved himself to be an important part of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He showed his hitting prowess by homering in the first inning against Jake Irvin. Notably, he achieved his fifth home run of the 2025 season with this. Moreover, he also contributed three runs in the seventh field, which also included lopping a single on the opposite-field beyond second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. ‘s reach to get the go-ahead run in the seventh inning.

This performance allowed him to lead his team to victory, with a 6-5 score. Despite his team losing the series 2-1 to the Washington Nationals, Hernandez stopped the opponents from sweeping his team with a 3-0 score.

While talking about his team’s win, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed (via Sportsnet):

“It never feels good losing a series, but when you win the last one to salvage it, it’s not so bad.”
