Stefano Pioli’s second spell at Fiorentina is hanging by a thread. After a dismal run of form in Serie A, the veteran manager’s future could be decided in the coming days. The club hierarchy is growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s performances.
The Viola have endured a torrid start to their 2025–26 campaign. They failed to win a single league match so far. With just four points from ten games, they sit 19th in the standings, ahead of only Genoa. Their most recent 1–0 defeat to Lecce appears to have been the final straw for the board.

They are now actively discussing Pioli’s exit and the financial details of his contract termination. Although, in a recent exchange with the club’s management, Pioli reportedly made it clear that he has no intention of resigning.
According to reports in Italy, Fiorentina’s leadership has begun identifying potential successors. Especially technical director Roberto Goretti and general manager Alessandro Ferrari have begun the process. Paolo Vanoli initially emerged as a frontrunner.
