Tammy Abraham Set to Join Besiktas from Roma in €15M Deal

Abhinav Goel

The Turkish giants confirmed Abraham’s signing as they posted a video of the striker on his way to Istanbul.

England forward Tammy Abraham is set to join Besiktas from AS Roma in a deal worth €15 million plus bonuses. The striker has put pen to paper on a four-year contract after the two clubs agreed a deal on Monday. Roma were under pressure to resolve Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues before the deadline.

As a result, the negotiations between the two clubs moved quickly, with Roma under pressure to raise 13 million euros before the end of June. The Italian club prioritised Abraham’s sale, with Besiktas winning the race for his signature ahead of Villarreal and Zenit St. Petersburg. Notably, the 27-year-old spent last season on loan at AC Milan.

He scored 10 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions but returned to Roma after Milan opted not to make the move permanent. Milan paid tribute to Abraham’s work rate and contribution upon his departure at the end of the season.

A former Chelsea academy graduate, Abraham made his senior breakthrough with loan spells at Bristol City, Swansea, and Aston Villa before joining Roma for £34 million in 2021. He went on to help the Italian club win the Europa Conference League in 2022 under Jose Mourinho.
