Kyrie Irving came up with a game-high 34 point performance vs the 76ers.
It seems that the NBA world is still trying to process what happened a couple of days ago, Luka Doncic’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers! Fans and experts weren’t ready for it when NBA reporter Shams Charania dropped a bombshell revealing that the Lakers and Mavericks were trading Doncic and Anthony Davis.
Fans along with several current players including LeBron James, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Klay Thompson expressed their views on what might be the biggest trade in the league. Not only this, but even Davis and Doncic didn’t see that coming, and revealed how the sudden transfer left them shocked.

Mavericks guard, Irving, also opened up about the trade of his former teammate, revealing that it is still a grieving process for them. “Just really shocked,” said Irving.
The Melbourne-born added that one cannot imagine when they might come across such news, while emphasizing that he misses his “hermano”.
“You just don’t imagine you’re going to get ready to go to sleep and then you find out news like that. It’s still a grieving process right now. I miss my hermano. We had a lot of time together,” added the 32-year-old.
Notably, Irving and Doncic became teammates when the former was traded to the Mavs from the Nets in 2023. Since then, they led the side to their third-ever Western Conference title and first since 2011.
Kyrie Irving, who was listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury ahead of the Tuesday-night clash against the 76ers, came up with a game-high 34 point performance.
However, his contribution went into vain as the Mavericks slumped to their rivals 118-116, and recorded their third-straight loss. He added four assists and nine rebounds to the scoreboard and was shooting 11-of-21 from the field.
In 40 games that Irving has played for the Mavs this season, he is averaging at 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists at 36.1 minutes.
