Spain Aims to Defend Nations League Title and Secure World Cup Qualification in 2025

Spain’s National Team is one of the strongest nations in current world football. After their Euro 2024 triumph, manager Luis De La Fuente has guided the nation to the number 2 position in the world rankings. Moreover, with players like Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Pedri entering into their prime, the future of the Spanish side looks in good hands as well.

After winning on penalties against Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the Nations League, Spain will face France in the final four of the competition. Additionally, Fuente will have a busy end to the year as the World Cup 2026 qualifiers wait for them starting in September.

Spain vs France

Spain will take on the mighty France in the UEFA Nations League 2025 semifinal in June. Aiming to defend their title, the Spaniards will have their toughest test till the point in form France. With five games won out of their last 10 matchups, Spain will still come in as the favourites to win the clash.

Spain will come into the contest with seven wins and zero defeats in their past 10 games. With three games won out of the last five against France, they will also be considered favourites to win the clash given their recent run.

Spain which currently ranks second in the World Football Ranking has flourished under Fuente. After their Euro 2024 triumph, Fuente and his side are aiming for two trophies in two years should they go all the way in the Nations League.
