Portugal will have some high-stakes football fixtures in 2025 as they will take on some of the top-tier nations in the world. Facing Germany in the UEFA Nations Cup 2025 semifinals, the Portuguese side will aim to win their second-ever Nations Cup in history.

Having lost only two games of their past 10, Roberto Martinez and his side have had a dominant run over the past two years. Moreover, with youngsters like Rafael Leao, Joao Neves and Vitinha in the form of their lives, Martinez hopes to take their side to glory in 2025.

Portugal vs Germany

Martinez will face the German Giants in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations Cup 2025. After beating Denmark 5-3 on aggregate in the semifinals, Cristiano Ronaldo and his side will steam in on confidence as they face Julian Nagelsmann’s side in Allianz Arena, Munich.

Portugal has failed to win against Germany since their Euro Cup victory in 2000. Losing on the last five occasions, the Portuguese will look to break the poor record against the German side as they look to clinch a spot in the Nations League finals.

Should they win the Nations Cup semifinal against Germany, Martinez will play in the finals on June 8, 2025. Additionally, following their Nations League 2025 campaign, Portugal will face Armenia and Scotland in the WC Qualifiers in September.

Martínez was appointed head coach of Portugal on January 9, 2023, succeeding Fernando Santos. Guiding Portugal’s national football team to a trophy in 2019, they claimed the inaugural UEFA Nations League title. However, following their World Cup 2022 failure, Santos was replaced by Martinez.
